A Message from Sheriff Brian Heino

Prior to taking office, one of my goals was to find more ways to inform the public about emergency services, alerts and general calls for service; that impact our daily lives.

Although not fully dependent on the use of modern technology, I feel we can accomplish a lot of our communication goals through social media and operational flexibility.

Much like my predecessor, my goal is to implement a stronger Community Policing effort throughout the county so that we are more visible and responsive to special needs in all areas.

My commitment to you, the tax payer and citizen of Flathead County I remain engaged with the public through meetings, social media and training; to provide the best service for all.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Posse is dedicated to serving the people of the Flathead County. By providing committed leadership and teamwork, the quality of all services provided to the people will be maintained at the highest possible level.

There are basic purposes of the Sheriffs Posse:

1. To aid the Sheriff in his service to the citizens of the county.

2. Preserve crime scene evidence

3. To aid in evacuation efforts for protection of the public.

4. Security at the Northwest Montana Fair and other events.

5. Provide crowd control at the request of Law Enforcement.

6. Security at High School Sporting events.
