A Message from Sheriff Brian Heino

Prior to taking office, one of my goals was to find more ways to inform the public about emergency services, alerts and general calls for service; that impact our daily lives.

Although not fully dependent on the use of modern technology, I feel we can accomplish a lot of our communication goals through social media and operational flexibility.

Much like my predecessor, my goal is to implement a stronger Community Policing effort throughout the county so that we are more visible and responsive to special needs in all areas.

My commitment to you, the tax payer and citizen of Flathead County I remain engaged with the public through meetings, social media and training; to provide the best service for all.

Welcome

SCAM ALERT

Have you received a phone call from a person stating that they are a Law Enforcement Officer or Judge stating you have a warrant? They may say that you missed jury duty, and an officer will arrest you, but will give you an option to send them money for the in the form of:

  • Gift Cards
  • Bitcoin
  • Money Wire Transfers or by any other means

STOP!

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Judges or other Law Enforcement Personnel will never call people that have a warrantThis is a SCAM.  They are very convincing on the phone and if you get a call from anyone stating you have a warrant, simply hang up on them. More importantly tell your family, friends and co-workers of this type of scam. Sadly, thousands of dollars have been sent to these fraudsters and it is very rare/nearly impossible to recover money sent to these criminals. DO NOT give any of your hard-earned money to these scammers. If you have any questions or are in doubt, call us at the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office at 406-758-5585 or any Law Enforcement Agency in Flathead County.
